I am a calm laid back individual who is usually asleep. But when I'm not its hard to tell I'm not trying to be asleep. I play guitar/bass in my spare time. And listen to various genres of music. Predominately metal and rock.

Getting some small work done on my Ranchero

Posted by Viper - July 13th, 2016

Kinda wanted to make a new post since the previous one was up for like 4 1/2 months.

Anyways!
As of right now my Ranchero is sitting at a garage in town. I'm getting a spring in the seat that goes on what adjusts the seat replaced so I can drive the damn thing and not worry about the seat rocking back and forth and so I can actually reach the pedals due to the fact it moves all the way back and all the way forward making it pretty dangerous to drive otherwise. Also getting full moon hubcaps put on.

This car...truck...thing is a fuckin beast. Other than getting the hubcaps on and getting the seat fixed, I need the radio worked on because it's not working at the moment so I'm thinking a mouse chewed through a wire. It's got a 12 disc CD changer in it. I also need to thoroughly clean the bed and get it lined as well as get a couple small rust spots starting to form fixed before they get worse. They're in the rear lower corners by the back tires. They're not BAD right now but it'd be better if I took care of them SOON rather than later on.

(fucking thing has KITT lights in the grill and I want to get more to fill the whole thing up to have on at car shows)

******EDIT******

And here it is with the hubcaps on it. Looks fucking sharp as hell.

OMG what a fucking beast, look at that faic only a mother could love, after a few Schlitz'es. This thing would make Hummer drivers cringe with a small penisititis complex. Should need a boat license to operate that thing, and it's amazing.

More KITT lights, like glued around the sides of the car? It'd look like an arcade shooters spinny shield powerup, red halo of anti-suckiness protection? Perfect car hauling amps and drum kits, like a lead roadie for Black Sabbath on their 1st US tour....

I like how it looks... But yeah I DID think about swapping out the front part with one off a T-Bird so it'd have hideaway headlights, but decided against it since I want the car to at least LOOK like the body is original haha.

Nah I mean inside the grill like right back behind it. I have two sitting at the top right next to one another that sit side by side and the only way I can get them to work is if I twist some wiring onto the wires coming out of em and touch the ends to the battery. I've considered getting one of those toppers on it over the bed so it'd have a weirdly elongated station wagon look to it. Like it'd curve down towards the end going down to the tailgate. But I can't find those for this kind of car and any I've seen on them look awkwardly big for em.

Man, that's a bad ass ride !

Thank you.

Might wanna check out a semi-truck site, a lot of those guys don't wanna run more than 1 or 2 alternators, so they might sell a strip of LED's with customized display patterns and all.

BTW, is there a black plastic cowl over the front of the car? Kinda liked the original chrome...

Yeah I suppose I could give that a shot. Though I might hold off on it for now. I still have a few things left to do on that before I'll feel it's completely done. I want to get them done first before I do stuff like that. Those things would be: getting the radio fixed, bed cleaned and lined, then two little rust spots fixed, and those pin stripes taken off because they abruptly end at the doors so it looks awkward. So I at least want those lower ones directly by the doors gone and maybe keep the ones around the bed. Then get the tailgate redone and then it'll be all good and I'll feel good about it.

And nope. That IS the original well...everything on it. The owners before the previous ones painted the entire grille, chrome around the headlights, and the area around the taillights black. Granted the paint is coming off a LITTLE bit but it's still all there. But I kinda want to get new taillights because the ones on it now (though you cannot see in these pics) have blue dots in em but they're rusting. The previous previous owners also added those little blue lights down at the bottom by the bumper because those aren't originally on the car. There is SUPPOSED to be a decal that goes all the way down the length of the car.

Put me in the trunk lets go for a cruise

I don't know if I'd want to put you in the trunk of a car haha. But you can hang out in the bed :p

Oh you wanna take me to bed? ;) ;)

...I will neither confirm nor deny this and will not speak without my lawyer present haha.

Your lawyer can come to bed too.

And I'll video it, Viper can put it on YouTube, and be able to buy the LED's w/ the ad-rev $ I love it when a plan comes together. We can put Wade in teh trunk (bed lol), along with the Trunk Monkey.

Yeah, gonna have to nix the pinstripes, no way it could be replicated on the doors, dunno about the ones on the bed, 'cause you'd almost want that look on the front 1/4 panel to balance it out. Those hub caps are creepy, wouldn't you say @kayleeee?

What's going on here? O.o

Well I mean I COULD get rhe replicated on the doors. The outlines of em are still on there. Could just have em used as guidelines if I REALLY wanted them on there.

The full moon ones are creepy?

@VicariousE The new ones or old ones? The old ones, yes. The new ones are different. They add a bit of flair to the car.

I like the new ones ._.
They were my call. My dad wanted me to put original ones on it but I wanted those.

You're talking to a girl who has blacked out rims with low pro tires on her car. I find a bit of flair groovy.

Well I think all the black on the car makes the chrome hubcaps stand out a lot more. Especially since that's the only chrome ON it.

Plus no meat chunks end up sticking to the wheel nuts

Yeah that's true.

Quick flick of a garden hose and the red stuff rinses clean, still need an attachment to get up underneath

Yeah but I don' t have a hose though ._. Though if I did it'd be hard to get to because it'd screw into a corner of the back of the house that is very out of the way.

Used to drive over fire hydrants, but it's ruining the bumper's finish. Otherwise, I'd have to risk having the windshield pitted at a car wash... happens too often for me to even bother going any more. They used to have a guy on a pressure washer, keeping the heavy stuff from getting embedded in the auto-schiwalla rotary wipes
