Been wildly inactive for nearly a year now. Had computer issues and wasn't too into getting my computer fixed for like the 4th time. So I just went on hiatus here and only posted periodically or got exp.
But I got myself a laptop today. So hey. Guess I'm back.
Looking forward to starting to post and talk to people on here again. Really missed it ._.

Well I wouldn't say he's "trying to be me". He's been here since 2003. My name was originally Viper50 but Tom changed it to just Viper back in like 2014 because there was an old abandoned account from 2000 named Viper and I wanted the name so he just gave me it.

I was lucky enough to get my username changed to "Skater" back in 2005-2007..I don't exactly remember.

You CAN get your name changed too a preexisting one as long as the account was either abandoned or never/rarely used in the first place. But it has to be relatively old and meet those "requirements". But yeah. You can get your name changed to one that already exists. You just have to ask.

Yep,like every other user with a "common" username. Makes me wonder what happened to them..It's like they registered an account and then forgot their memory.
This was well before that became a thing. And by that I mean the whole "supporters get to change their name". I have no intention on changing my name again.
Well there IS literally a couple million users on here. So there'd definitely be a ton of users who signed up and never used their accounts.

I don't recall you doing anything untoward last time! Sometimes ads get hacked, and when you go to a site that has those ads... all e-hell breaks loose, just by being on the page.
Well I DID torrent a lot before on my other computer. So who knows. Maybe something is still on there but the virus scanners never were able to detect it.
A bad torrent seems likely, I always check the individual files before downloading, always wary of zipped/archived files!
Well I haven't done it in awhile so I may be good from any new viruses. Though if I got one because of a torrent then that would mean that the virus is current on...my....external hard drive shit!
I'm only guessing that's what happened man! I can only wonder where most ppl pick up viruses, maybe there's a pie chart out there... You usually go for music, is there such a thing as a fake mp3, or a playlist file? It's gotta be something small you apply an action to, to get it... usually it's an installation (or .exe) file you click on that sets it going. I'm really just as clueless as you are, hell even the Iranian's nuclear gear got infected, thanks to the US and Israel...

I know when I used to get shit off Frostwire people would put mp3s on there and they'd JUST be a warning telling people not to download music illegally or whatever. But yeah I suppose you could randomly put in an mp3 file thats got a virus on it. Don't see why not. I feel like a playlist file would be easier to get something like a virus on. The last time I downloaded anything that was an exe file I think it was some comp albums from a blog called The Day After The Sabbath. They make comp stuff of bands that came after Black Sabbath and were influenced by them. They have literally over 100 right now. Also have some called The Day Before The Sabbath which is proto-metal stuff.
